Documentary Wedding Photograper
CREATIVELY CAPTURING YOUR DAY AS IT UNFOLDS
As a Documentary Wedding Photographer I’m often delighted to track back down memory lane and shoot a wedding near Hailsham, close to where I spent much of my childhood. The beautiful church at Hellingly was the setting for this particular wedding of Amilia and Liam.
I’d met them both a few weeks earlier for a family shoot with their delightful daughter Lizzy. It was a good thing too, as by this time she was so comfortable in front of the camera it allowed me to capture some great natural moments
Life is a series of moments. My aspiration is to capture the essence of those moments we want to keep alive.
As a successful documentary wedding photographer and family portrait photographer my fascination with people is paramount. Everyone has a story to tell and I try to find it.
Let’s face it, we’re talking about a major investment. To skimp on the pictures would be foolhardy. One must search for a poetic atmosphere to capture the heart of the emotion. There’s more to that than merely pointing the lens and clicking the shutter. Thought and sensibility are required to capture the event and lift it above the ordinary. I possess a watchful eye and a geniality that count as much my technical expertise.
“Joel has an amazing gift of invisibly witnessing every special moment with his camera. Not just the set pieces – and he captures all of those with perfect timing – but also the intimate moments of fun, family and friendship. His artistic eye means every picture has a magical quality of light and detail. We were left with a beautiful set of candid portraits of our children, parents and friends that we will cherish for many years.”
